I discovered that drawing on newspaper is really fun. I spent several hours last night drawing over newspaper when I should have been working on a painting, but I think it was a worth while discovery! I was looking at the Society of Illustrators student competition (which by the way is quite impressive if I do say so myself. The quality of work coming out of some of these schools is amazing! Check it out.) and I saw a guy that would paint on the sunday comics but leave some of the word bubbles showing. It was very creative. Hence, the newspaper drawings.
